The mission at Quality Parks, a nonprofit organization, is two-fold: to consult park managers on how to more effectively bring quality to their park systems, while at the same time educating the public about the importance of, and participation in, conservation. Partnering with the University of Pennsylvania Law School and the Wharton School, Thirdpath Institute, a non-profit whose mission is "To assist individuals and families in finding new ways to redesign work to create time for family, community and other life priorities," held a 2-day conference in May, 2004 for lawyers, entitled "Having a Life: Creating Work-Life Balance in the Law." Martial Artists Help House Boston's Elderly Homeless
November 29, 2006 - Collaborating with Hearth, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides shelter and services for the community's elderly homeless, karate students from Boston's Emerald Necklace Budo Martial Arts (http://www.karateinboston.com/) are volunteering to renovate a housing unit in the city's Jamaica Plain neighborhood.
